Tax revenues in November dropped 7.2 percent from a year earlier to ¥7.123 trillion as corporate tax revenues continued to slide due to declining profits amid the global economic downturn, the Finance Ministry said Monday.

Corporate tax revenues sank 11.6 percent in November to ¥3.876 trillion, the ministry said.

Consumption tax revenues slipped 0.6 percent to ¥1.170 trillion.

Personal income tax revenues rose 1.3 percent to ¥1.296 trillion due largely to a technical factor related to the transfer of income tax revenue sources from the central government to municipalities in fiscal 2006, a ministry official said.
