Someone, somewhere, has won Japan's largest-ever lottery prize of 584 million yen, the National Agency for the Advancement of Sports and Health said Sunday.

The prize of exactly 584,156,640 yen from the Big soccer lottery tops the previous record of 400 million yen for the public lottery Loto 6, which has been awarded several times as the top prize of that lottery, according to the agency organizing the soccer lottery.

Big's top prize is set at 600 million yen. The lottery this time was for matches played Sunday.

The first prize for Big is awarded when all the results on a ticket match results from 14 J-1 and J-2 league games, including draws. Under the Big lottery system, a computer system randomly selects the results for the holder.
