FUKUOKA – About 1,600 items of medical waste, including used syringes and bottles, have drifted ashore in northern Kyushu, the Fukuoka Prefectural Government said Tuesday.
The prefecture urged residents to be careful along the coasts of Fukuoka, Fukutsu and five other cities and towns.
Some 116 injectors and 246 bottles were among the waste, the government said. The label on one syringe indicates it was made in China.
