An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.3 jolted Gifu Prefecture and neighboring areas Saturday, the Meteorological Agency said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage from the 4:21 p.m. quake.
The quake measured 4 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 7 in the town of Ibigawa.
