The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan is accepting applications for FCCJ Swadesh DeRoy scholarship funds to support students conducting research on media-related subjects involving Japan.

The $3,000 in funds will be awarded in memory of DeRoy, a longtime Tokyo correspondent of the Press Trust of India.

Applicants are not required to have journalism course work or experience, the committee said, adding they are required to send nonreturnable copies of an outline of their planned project, a resume, academic transcript and previous clips of published work in English by March 15.
