Toyota Motor Corp. and the Toyota Foundation said Thursday they have selected 15 organizations in Japan and abroad as recipients of the Toyota Environmental Activities Grant Program for fiscal 2002.

A total of 250 million yen will be awarded in grants to the recipients, they said.

The 15, selected from 70 applications, include the International Cooperation for Banana Paper Project, a Japanese organization; the Wetlands International-Malaysia Program, a Malaysian group; and the Center for Rural Communities Research & Development, a Vietnam organization.

The Third World Center for Water Management, a Mexican group, and the Institute for Transport and Development Policy, a U.S. organization, are also among them, they said.
