The Tokyo stock market has had an overall positive tone recently, bolstered by a rebound on Wall Street.
The 225-issue Nikkei average climbed past the 14,000 level Jan. 22 for the first time in almost a month. It closed the month at 13,843.55 on Wednesday, compared with the Jan. 11 closing of 13,201.07, its lowest level since Oct. 15, 1998.
