Noting that the environment is of extreme importance to his island nation, visiting Palau President Kunio Nakamura voiced both concern and hope for the outcome of the ongoing U.N. conference on global climate change in The Hague.
“I must say that as president of Palau, I am not very optimistic over the outcome of the Sixth Conference of Parties (to the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, or COP6),” Nakamura said Tuesday during a talk given for students at Waseda University in Tokyo.
