Aum Shinrikyo obtained a list of some 3,000 officials of Honda Motor Co. through a computer software company linked to the cult, the Metropolitan Police Department said Thursday.
The MPD suspects the company obtained the list of Honda officials, including their full names, ages and titles, when it received orders for personnel management systems from the carmaker and world's leading motorcycle manufacturer in 1997, it said.
Police added that they are currently investigating whether any criminal act was committed in the course of the cult obtaining the list.
