OSAKA -- A newborn baby was found abandoned in a church parking lot in Osaka early Thursday, local police said.
According to investigators, a churchgoer found the baby boy wrapped in a blanket in the parking lot of the Osaka Full Gospel Church at around 5 a.m. and reported the incident to a nearby police box.
Some diapers, a milk bottle, and a note carrying his birth date and blood type were found beside the baby, police officials said. The note included a passage saying, "Please take good care of him."
According to the note, the baby was just 5 days old, they added. Investigators said the baby was found soon after being abandoned, because the milk in the bottle was still warm upon his discovery.
