The new year has started, and so has the race to eat limited-edition desserts honoring the year's Chinese zodiac sign: the monkey.

Until Jan. 11, Baskin-Robbins stores in Japan will sell an ice cream treat called "Happy Doll Saru." Customer choose their favorite flavor of ice cream and Baskin-Robbins staff create a smiling simian on top with whipped cream, chocolate and banana candies.

The monkey business may be only skin (or rather, topping) deep, but consider this a tasty photo opportunity to get the next 12 months rolling.
