Swiss architect and designer Valerio Olgiati has an office in Zurich and another in the Swiss mountainside municipality of Flims. He also worked for a number of years in Los Angeles and has recently garnered international acclaim for his daring and yet simple designs.
Nine of Olgiati's most impressive works are being presented as 1:33-scale models for this exhibition, which also displays the architect's floor plans.
Some designs, such as that for the Perm Museum XXI in Russia, express an influence of ethnic patterns in their geometric and modest aesthetic, and the large scale of the models help viewers appreciate the harmony and architectural beauty of such work up-close; till Jan. 15, 2012.
