It's a me, Abe!
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made an cameo at the Rio 2016 Olympics' closing ceremony. While his presence was not unexpected, as Tokyo will be hosting the 2020 Olympics, his unusual entrance was another matter. Naturally, the internet had something to say about it.

One version of the 'real Tokyo'
Photographically, Tokyo is a city open to many interpretations. It is sex, it's shopping, elevated highways and kids playing at the end of quiet streets. It's futuristic, hyper-real and postmodern. It's a series of villages and an isolating, soulless landscape in demise.

Within the art of darkness
Fashion, like a magnet, has been seasonally repelled and attracted to black since the 1980s, and, with the exception of photography, every art form at one point in time has been in love with the mysterious "color" (Scientifically, black is not a color as it absorbs light rather than reflects it.). Not black that's diluted, weakened or contrasted with colors, but pure oversaturated, obliterating black.

Seeking new approaches
PHOTOGRAPHY is everywhere these days. The popular photo-sharing Web site Flickr is said to have 4 million members, who upload 1 million images a day, and with cell phones now having more pixels than old digital cameras, everything is a Docomo, Softbank, Canon or Nikon "moment."

Playing with energy
Though on the surface it's easy to think everyone else has got it sorted out, things are not always what they seem. From time to time we all feel like a blip in the universe, trapped by things beyond our control -- whether unbending social powers, finicky laws, monetary limitations or annoying office politics, the list is endless. In any major city, it is not hard to feel alienated among the masses, who at times appear to be more of everything we're not.
