Oriental Land Co., operator of Tokyo Disney Resort in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, announced a recall Thursday of cupcakes sold at the park after receiving claims they were moldy.

The firm said it will recall 699 boxes of Cup Cheesecakes bearing a large Mickey Mouse face and an April 21 use-by date. The boxes, which contain nine separately packaged cupcakes, were sold between March 19 and 21.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, two customers reported finding mold in the products but no health problems have been reported, the company said.

According to Oriental Land, Saga-based Marukin Manju, the maker of the cupcakes, recently found a defect in a machine that checks whether the plastic packaging is sealed, raising the possibility it was faulty.

Oriental Land said it will issue a refund of ¥1,400 per box of cupcakes returned.
