JCB Co. said Tuesday it has formed an alliance with a major Indonesian bank to bolster its credit card business in Asia.

JCB International Co., a subsidiary that handles global operations, has tied up with Bank Negara Indonesia in hopes of boosting its network of affiliated stores.

Bank Negara will begin accepting JCB credit cards at around 40,000 affiliated stores in October, and by December it will start issuing platinum cards for affluent Indonesians, JCB said.
