Fujitsu Ltd. and its biometrics technology unit Fujitsu Frontech Ltd. have developed what they call the world's smallest and thinnest vein authentication device for logging into PCs without compromising accuracy despite being only a quarter the size of comparable existing models.

The 48-by-48-by-16.4 mm PalmSecure-SL is available in two versions — standard and mouse types — and went on sale Wednesday at a suggested retail price of ¥17,500.
