The operator of a website on childbirth and child rearing, digitalBoutique Inc., said Thursday personal data on about 170,000 users have leaked following unauthorized access from overseas.

The cyber-attack started Feb. 3 and apparently originated in China, leading all of the website subscribers' email addresses, login passwords and birth dates in its database to be leaked.

The operator discovered the leak Tuesday after noticing heavy server traffic. No unauthorized logins have been detected so far, but the operator changed the website's login system so the leaked passwords cannot be used.

Subscribers to the website can upload photos and keep diaries on their chidrens' growth. The operator apologized for the leak.
