NAHA, OKINAWA PREF. – Three Cabinet ministers are expected to visit Okinawa this month to hold talks with Gov. Hirokazu Nakaima over the planned relocation of the contentious U.S. Futenma base within the prefecture, state and local government officials said.
Defense Minister Yasuo Ichikawa will visit from Friday, followed by Tatsuo Kawabata, state minister for Okinawa affairs, on Nov. 19. Foreign Minister Koichiro Genba’s trip is still being arranged, the officials said.
