The Liberal Democratic Party plans to ask Tokyo Gov. Shintaro Ishihara to seek re-election in April, a senior lawmaker suggested Tuesday.
“As secretary general of the LDP, I hope he will run,” Nobuteru Ishihara, who is also the oldest son of the outspoken governor, said at a news conference.
