Aeon Co. said Wednesday its consolidated sales in the business year that ended in February dropped 3.4 percent to ¥5.05 trillion, marking the first decline since the supermarket operator began releasing its consolidated business results in fiscal 1983.
But the company saw a group net profit of ¥31.12 billion, getting into the black for the first time in two years. In fiscal 2008 it lost ¥2.76 billion.
