Transport minister Seiji Maehara has asked Central Japan Railway Co. (JR Tokai) about starting bullet-train services at Tokyo’s Haneda airport to make it more accessible, but the carrier dismissed the idea.

“I felt we could use (bullet trains),” Maehara told reporters Sunday, referring to JR Tokai’s shinkansen switching yard and tracks near the airport.
