Yukio Hatoyama will move into the Prime Minister's Official Residence from his home in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, in mid-October, sources close to him said Monday.

The move will come after the official campaigns for Upper House by-elections in Kanagawa and Shizuoka prefectures start Thursday, according to the sources.

With Hatoyama planning to convene an extraordinary Diet session on Oct. 26, he decided to transfer his home base to the official residence to fully prepare for parliamentary deliberations, the sources said.
