HIROSHIMA (Kyodo) Hiroshima Prefecture and five local governments on Wednesday asked the Hiroshima High Court to delay a court session so they can come up with measures to resurrect financial support for single-parent households that was scrapped in April by the Liberal Democratic Party.

The shift in stance by the prefecture and five cities emerged in a court session in which a man and a woman are seeking an injunction against the local governments for their decision to do away with the aid for single parents.
