Economic and fiscal policy minister Kaoru Yosano said Sunday the government may consider compiling another economic stimulus package after the Diet passes the fiscal 2009 budget if economic conditions deteriorate further.

Appearing on a program aired by a private TV station, Yosano said if the economy weakens further, “Discussion on whether the 12 trillion yen (earmarked so far for budgetary spending to boost the economy) is sufficient” will come up and added he thinks taking an additional measure would be “wise.”
