NHK has said both its revenue and profit rose in business 2006 for the first time in three years thanks to a recovery in subscription payments.

Revenues, more than 95 percent of which come from subscription fees, rose by 8.8 billion yen during the year to March 31 to 643.2 billion yen, while expenditures were cut by 10.2 billion yen to end up at 619.8 billion yen, NHK said.
