OSAKA (Kyodo) Australian discount carrier Jetstar Airways said Tuesday it will begin flights between Osaka’s Kansai International Airport and Sydney next March.
The Qantas Airways Ltd. subsidiary is the first discount carrier to serve a Japanese airport for international services, Kansai International Airport Co. said.
Jetstar will run a daily Osaka to Sydney flight with the 303-seat Airbus A330-200. Fares will be announced in June.
Japan Airlines runs flights from Osaka to Sydney but plans to end the service.
