KOBE (Kyodo) The Justice Ministry has granted a Vietnamese refugee who lost his residency status due to a theft conviction the right to stay in Japan with his family, a refugee support group said Wednesday.

Nguyen Van Chuyen, 38, came to Japan from Vietnam in 1984. He applied for residency last November, according to the Osaka-based Rights of Immigrants Network in Kansai.
