A man and a woman were arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of killing a Filipino woman and later dumping her body in Shiojiri, Nagano Prefecture, last week, police said.
Police alleged that Masayuki Takagi, 25, and Mika Kawakami, 22, strangled Michelle Vizmanos sometime between late Friday and early Saturday and left her corpse in a forest in Shiojiri.
The pair have confessed, police said.
The victim, an employee of a clothing shop in a big discount store in Matsumoto, vanished Friday after work. Her body was discovered Sunday.
