The death toll from the sinking last week of an overcrowded yacht on Lake Biwa rose to six Tuesday when a boy's body was retrieved from the lake bottom, and one woman remains missing, local police said.

The body was identified as that of Shinji Kanazawa, the 9-year-old son of Masashi Kanazawa, 43, a resident of Kyoto who also died in the accident, police said.

The boy's body, found without a life jacket, was discovered about 20 meters from the yacht -- the Falcon -- which was found last week at the bottom of Lake Biwa. It was in 46 meters of water about 1.2 km from shore.

Twelve people were on board when the yacht, which had a maximum capacity of 10, capsized and sank on Sept. 15, a public holiday, on Japan's largest freshwater lake. Four people survived the accident and seven others, including three children, disappeared.
