NAGOYA – A man was arrested Sunday in Osaka Prefecture on suspicion of killing a taxi driver who was found stabbed to death in his cab in Nagoya’s Meito Ward on Aug. 24, police said.
Aichi prefectural police identified the suspect as 64-year-old Shigeharu Boku.
Mikio Maeno, the 66-year-old taxi driver, was found in the back seat of his cab with a white seat cover pulled over his body, the police said, adding that money was stolen from the vehicle. The police said Maeno had suffered numerous stab wounds to his throat, abdomen and back.
