Japanese director Kunitoshi Manda's "Unloved" won the Prix du Jury Oecumenique for "upcoming talent" Thursday at the Cannes International Film Festival.

The first feature film by 45-year-old Manda, from Tokyo, was screened during the Critics Week of the 54th annual film festival at the French resort.

The film depicts the relationship between two men and a woman, each of whom finds it difficult to associate with other people.
