The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles said Monday they have acquired right-hander Brian Sikorski, who was released by the Yomiuri Giants earlier this month.
Sikorski set a club record with Yomiuri by pitching in 70 games as a reliever this year and posted a 7-1 record with a 3.29 ERA.
But the 31-year-old was left out of Giants manager Tatsunori Hara's plans and put on waivers on Nov. 7.
Sikorski joined Yomiuri in 2004 after three seasons with the Chiba Lotte Marines.
