J. League chairman Saburo Kawabuchi met officials of Yokohama FC on Tuesday and agreed to recommend that the club be promoted to the J. League's Second Division next season.
Yokohama FC, which won this season's Japan Football League championship and matched the conditions for promotion to J-2, is expected to hear confirmation of the decision after the J. League's executive meeting Dec. 19.
Yokohama FC was formed in February 1999 by supporters of former J. League club Yokohama Flugels.
