Regarding the story “Japan claims curling silver” in the March 29 edition, I hope that all of Japan is proud of Satsuki Fujisawa and her teammates.

I was very impressed with not just the tremendous skill they exhibited, but also their approach to the game, their sense of humor, respect for the game and how they interacted with the fans.

Like millions of other Canadians I was cheering for them (when they were not playing Canada, of course!)

While I wish they could have returned with the gold medal, we were happy to see them earn silver … and raise the positive profile of Japan while doing so.
