Toshiba Corp. and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co.'s flat-panel venture said it will have a monthly capacity of 1.5 million organic-electroluminescent display panels (OLEDs) at a plant in Ishikawa Prefecture.
The companies will spend ¥16 billion to make the small and medium-size displays based on the more-advanced technology, the venture, Toshiba Matsushita Display Technology Co., said in a statement Friday. Production will begin in October, it said.
