Princess Kiko will enter a private hospital in Tokyo on Wednesday in preparation for her Caesarean delivery in September, the Imperial Household Agency said Tuesday.
The wife of Prince Akishino, Emperor Akihito's second son, is having a Caesarean section because she has partial placenta previa, a complication in which the placenta covers part of the cervix, making it difficult for the baby to exit at birth.
