Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said Thursday he is looking forward to meeting U.S. President George W. Bush during his trip to the United States in September.
Koizumi told reporters in front of his office that a date has not been set for his upcoming get-together with Bush.
Government sources said Tuesday that Koizumi will meet with Bush around Sept. 12 on a visit to attend the U.N. General Assembly and a memorial service for victims of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
The two leaders last met in Canada on the sidelines of the Group of Eight summit in June.
