Police said Tuesday they have arrested a 27-year-old South Korean man for allegedly murdering his 29-year-old sister-in-law and dumping her body along the banks of the Edo River in Tokyo.

Lee Chan Yol, who is married to Kwon Un Yong's younger sister, is suspected of strangling Kwon, who is also South Korean, in a condominium in Edogawa Ward around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Lee allegedly put the woman's body in a suitcase and carried it by bicycle to the edge of the river, about 3.5 km from their home, early Monday.

Lee, Kwon and her sister had been living together since the couple arrived from South Korea in March. The victim's sister was working at the time of the murder, according to police.

Lee confessed and told investigators that he lost control and killed Kwon because she often accused him of being lazy and incompetent, police said.
