Westin Tokyo special summer plan

The Westin Tokyo hotel has an accommodation plan that includes a special parfait to help you cool down in the summer heat, through Aug. 31.

There are five kinds of parfait to choose from: peach, chocolate banana, matcha green tea with adzuki sweet red beans, exotic fruits and red fruits. Guests can enjoy the dessert at The Lounge in the lobby of the hotel anytime from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., so it can also serve as a snack upon arrival.

The plan also includes a breakfast buffet at The Terrace, served between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Freshly cooked dishes, bread hot out of the oven, fresh fruit juice and other items will help guests start off the day.

The accommodation plan starts from ¥32,000 per room. Rooms available are deluxe doubles for single or double occupancy and deluxe twins for single, double or triple occupancy.

ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe driver plan

The ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe hotel has a summer accommodation campaign through Sept. 30 that lets guests arriving with cars use its parking lot for free.

The plan also includes breakfast and starts from ¥8,250 per person for double occupancy and from ¥7,667 per person for triple occupancy.

The breakfast is available at The Terrace, offering Japanese and Western dishes in buffet-style, at Kyoto cuisine restaurant Tankuma Kitamise or as room service, which offers a Kobe beef burger set meal, American breakfast or continental breakfast.

Children also receive special toothbrushes and slippers.

Nearby tourist spots include the Kobe Kitano Ijinkan-Gai (a town with well-preserved old Western-style architecture) and the Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens and Ropeway.

New French restaurant at the Conrad

The Conrad Tokyo hotel will open the modern French restaurant Collage on Aug. 1.

Its name comes from the idea of mixing various elements such as new-style cuisines and high-quality services, delivering hospitality to create a dining experience collage to customers.

Collage is on the 28th floor of the Conrad Tokyo. The setting has 7-meter-high glass windows onto dynamic scenery of Tokyo. The restaurant also has an open kitchen and modern interior decorations.

Shinya Maeda, who has worked at several Michelin-starred restaurants, will be the head chef. He served as the deputy chief chef at Michelin-three-starred The Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London in 2007. Maeda also served as chief chef at Gordon Ramsay at the Conrad Tokyo in 2008, the year since when the restaurant annually earned one Michelin star. Gordon Ramsay at the Conrad Tokyo closed on June 1.

Menu examples at Collage are a Lunch Tasting Course for ¥7,800 and a Dinner Saison Course for ¥15,000.
