Westin host Hong Kong roast

The Ryutenmon Chinese restaurant at the Westin Hotel Tokyo will host a Hong Kong Roasted Food Fair from April 29 to May 6, between 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Chinese chefs will be jetting in for the restaurant’s annual Golden Week holiday promotion to prepare traditional Hong Kong roasts.

Freshly roasted ducks, chickens and whole piglets will hang from food stalls in the restaurant, re-creating the atmosphere of Hong Kong’s famous street food stalls.

Some 20 a la carte selections will include char siu (Cantonese roast pork, ¥1,800), crispy pork back ribs (¥2,000), roast duck (¥1,800), salt-roasted tontoro (marbled belly pork, ¥1,700) and marinated chicken (¥2,000), as well as two special dinner courses (¥12,000 and ¥17,000).

During the fair, Ryutenmon’s original-blend 30-year-old Shaoxing Chinese rice wine can be enjoyed at a special price of ¥10,000 per 330-ml bottle.

The Westin Tokyo is in Ebisu Garden Place, a seven-minute walk along the Ebisu Sky Walk from the East Exit of JR Ebisu Station. For more information or reservations, call (03) 5423-7787.
