Q1: What was your first encounter with Japan?
In 2004, I was awarded a scholarship by the Chinese government to study in Nagoya. At the World Expo 2005 in Aichi, I was a translator (Chinese, Japanese and English) at the China Pavilion. I was charmed by the friendliness of the Japanese people and impressed by the cleanliness of the towns. From there, I started my career in Tokyo at a private aircraft leasing company as a trilingual translator.
Q2: Please state your motto in life and why you have chosen it.
Every challenge you face in life shapes you as an individual, making you the person you are today. It is never too late to become the person you strive to be. If you have a goal in life, do not procrastinate; make a start today.
Q3 : Over your career, what achievement are you the proudest of?
Leading a team to develop a new method of electroplating the surfaces of automotive parts was a big challenge. Prior to the development of this process in 2014, it was not possible to uniformly zinc plate the inner and outer metal surfaces of cylindrical materials. This was a fascinating project. The experience was very fulfilling and allowed me to develop as a person.
Q4 : What are your goals during your time in Japan, your current position or in life?
The shortage of skilled labor in the automotive parts industry has a negative impact on economic growth. My goal is to improve the work environment for our employees, improve productivity and expand the company by establishing new clients for our products in the aviation industry.
Q5 : What wisdom, advice or tips can you give to people living and working in Japan?
Every day, create a new masterpiece. Always be true to yourself and your values in life. I remained motivated and committed for three years until I was awarded a scholarship from a field of 33,000 student candidates. Step by step, I have improved myself through a love of learning and continuing to study at night schools even while working during the day. Each day, small steps will lead to significant achievements. It has taken me over 10 years of learning experiences to reach the point where I am at today. I am proud to be considered by my peers as a professional in my chosen field. Small steps help you reach the final goal!
