Christine Flint Sato is a British sumi-e (sumi ink) artist based in Nara. She specializes in tarashikomi, a traditional Japanese technique of pouring ink onto the paper, which she combines with detailed brushwork.

Her solo exhibition is being held at Gallery Den mym, which opened in 2010 in Minami Yamashiro, the only remaining village in Kyoto Prefecture. Run for many years by Michiko Teshima, the gallery was already well-established in Osaka before she made the village its new home.

There will be an artist's talk on May 28, and a mini-concert on June 5; May 28-June 5.
