Farewell to Taiwanese cinema, but not to love
If Taiwanese director Tsai Ming-liang threw a dinner party, it's easy to guess who would be invited. Tsai has staunchly and consistently worked with the same small cluster of actors from his 1992 debut film "Rebels of the Neon God" through to "Stray Dogs," which will open in Tokyo on Sept. 6, under the Japan title "Picnic." Some of these actors are closer to him than family.

The perpetrator was caught and the girl identified her attacker, but she still had to appear at a public trial because the police couldn't build a solid case against him. The incident blew up into a media free-for-all, which forced to victim and her family to relive their horrible ordeal over and over again.

All You Need is Kill
To tie in with the release of the film "Edge of Tomorrow," Haikasoru has published a graphic novel based on Hiroshi Sakurazaka's "All You Need is Kill," from which the film was adapted. Not to be confused with the manga version of the same title, the comic features art by Lee Ferguson (creator of the award-winning "Miranda Mercury") and is very much drawn in an American style.
