¥100 billion to be allocated for storage of radioactive waste
The government said Wednesday it will earmark in the fiscal 2014 budget plan about ¥100 billion as part of the costs to purchase land to build "interim" storage facilities for radioactive waste generated as a result of land decontamination from fallout from Fukushima No. 1 atomic plant disaster.

Leaks seen under reactor 1 containment vessel
Tokyo Electric Power Co. says it has found water leaks around the bottom of the containment vessel in the reactor 1 building at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant, the first time leaks have been detected near or possibly in any of the three containment vessels that experienced a meltdown in March 2011.
