'Tomoo Gokita: The Great Circus'
Though already established in Japan as an artist with exceptional drawing skills, Tomoo Gokita gained a strong cult following after the 2000 publication of "Lingerie Wrestling," a book of charcoal and ink drawings. He is also known for CD cover designs, such as his dog and gramophone illustration for "Music For Nipper," an album produced by indie-pop singer Kahimi Karie for Victor Entertainment. Overseas, Gokita was recently introduced to new audiences through a solo exhibition at the prominent Mary Boone Gallery in New York.
