A total of 102,070 housing starts were recorded in Japan in August, up 10.5 percent from a year earlier for the second consecutive monthly rise.
The Land, Infrastructure and Transport Ministry said Thursday that housing starts increased in all three categories: owner-occupied homes, those built for sale and those for rent.
