Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi is negotiating with financial authorities over the earlier-than-scheduled repayment of 100 billion yen in public funds it received in March 1998, bank officials said Friday.
If the repayment is realized, Tokyo-Mitsubishi will be the only city bank without financial support from the government.
The bank will further negotiate with the financial authorities to work out details of the repayment, the officials said.
