Zweigen Kanazawa has signed Romarinho, the son of former Brazil World Cup winner Romario, the J. League second-division club announced Thursday.

"I'm thankful to the club for giving me the offer," said Romarinho on the club's website upon joining from Vasco da Gama. "I'll give my all next season to contribute to the team's promotion to J1."

The 22-year-old striker's father, Romario, won the 1994 World Cup MVP after scoring five goals to propel Brazil to their fourth title.
