San Francisco Giants outfielder Norichika Aoki remained on the disabled list in minor league rehab on Friday, awaiting his return to the majors.

Although Aoki had been poised to come off the disabled list on Friday, he was continuing his minor league rehab with the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats, where he went 0-for-4 with one hard-hit ground ball. For the time he is waiting for the call to return to the Giants.

"If I'm doing well, I was told it would come sometime from Monday," Aoki said.

"Because I haven't played enough, they're saying they want me in just a few more (minor league) games. I want to pick up as much as I can."

Aoki was placed on the DL with a fractured right fibula on June 24, after being hit by a pitch a few days earlier.

"It could be two games, it could be more," Giants manager Bochy said in San Francisco on Friday. "We'll see how tonight and tomorrow goes. We're OK right now in the outfield. It allows you to make sure your player's ready."
