Ai Miyazato's hopes of forcing her way back into title contention evaporated Saturday with a 6-over-par 78 in the third round of the ANA Inspiration, the first major of the season on the U.S. LPGA Tour.
Miyazato dropped from second to a share of 13th on Friday and things went from bad to worse on Saturday as the Japanese star made just two birdies against eight bogeys.
The former world No. 1 plummeted down the leaderbaord into a tie for 58th with Mika Miyazato and seven others.
